Navigation.

i had, my Navigation introduction on the 15/3/09.
i did my navigation introduction with Capt. Rasmus, my personal instructor. Guess what? i felt like a total failure when i was in the air! i thought i suck at navigation. lol. but well, it was hard to say.. because my instructor Capt. Rasmus was screwing me in the air about my procedures and stuff. pressuring me to do calculations in the air, and looking for the places i should be at in Navigation. Also, making me do all the RT. which i have never done - contacting other frequencies and telling them things. i wanted him to show me how to do it first. That's what introductions are about right? you don't expect someone know everything on their introductions day.

ok, the procedures. i've read them. i do remember them. But, if i'm pressured on the first day how do you expect me to remember them right? lol. so yeah, i sucked on my nav intro. when i came down, i thought did really bad. he told me, "Well, only 3 things you need to work on. 1st would be maintaining altitude, 2nd knowing where you are at all times, 3rd knowing your procedures and doing them." lol. WOW. i thought i did much worse. i stoned in flight. damn.. haha.

Today, i just did my nav 1. which was my solo check. i did with Capt Ranjit. He was AWFULLY NICE. :) I felt so comfortable. when i made a mistake, he would just tell me what i should do. not scold me. LOL. WOW. it was really a different experience doing navigation with a different instructor. Talk about pressure. THERE WAS NONE. he was just chillin'. sometimes on his phone sms-ing someone. and telling me how to identify where am i with the map in my hands. On the other hand, my nav intro was more like... He's asking me to identify by myself. come on, its my first time right? LOL. I made it through. Thank God for that. i was so nervous before the flight. Really so happy he was nice to me today. looking forward to my navigation solo.
